Accessibility
EvalenceAI Learn aims at WCAG 2.1 AA for the learning experience. In practice:
- Keyboard. Every control is reachable with Tab and has a visible focus ring. The video player answers to space/k (play), j/l and the arrows (seek), c (captions), m (mute), f (full screen) and < > (speed). A "Skip to content" link is the first thing on every page.
- Screen readers. Landmarks, labelled controls, live regions for status changes, and the curriculum as a navigable list with completion and lock state announced.
- Captions and transcripts. Videos carry captions (automatic, corrected by instructors when they choose) and a transcript you can read and jump from.
- Contrast and motion. Text meets the 4.5:1 ratio in both light and dark schemes; nothing flashes or auto-plays with sound.
- Phones. One-column layouts with the course content behind a disclosure; no horizontal scrolling.
Automated checks run on every change (axe-core on the player, catalogue and account pages) and a manual screen-reader pass is part of every release. If something is in your way, email accessibility@evalenceai.dev with the page and what you were trying to do.
